The client

Bud’s Tyres is a Burleigh Heads-based wheel and tyre specialist with a Shopify ecommerce store serving customers across Australia. The business sells wheels, tyres, beadlocks and accessories online while also supporting customers in-store on the Gold Coast.

The challenge

When Bud’s Tyres engaged Predicta Digital’s Melbourne-based SEO team in June 2024, the website ranked for fewer than 20 competitive keywords. The opportunity was not simply to attract more visitors. Bud’s needed stronger visibility for commercial searches that could lead to product discovery, online sales, enquiries and fitting appointments. The initial audit identified four connected constraints:

  • Low visibility for competitive tyre and wheel searches
  • Technical SEO and page-speed issues limiting crawlability and user experience
  • Under-optimised product, collection and service pages
  • Weak backlink and local entity signals compared with established competitors

The objective

Build a stronger organic acquisition channel by improving rankings and bringing more commercially relevant traffic to the website. The campaign focused on measurable business outcomes: revenue, enquiries and appointments, not rankings in isolation.

What we did

1. Started with the technical foundation

We addressed crawlability, indexation, mobile performance and site-speed issues before asking content and authority work to do more. The reported page-speed improvement was 40%, giving customers a faster path from search result to product or booking action.

2. Prioritised commercial pages

Product, collection and service pages were optimised around the searches most closely connected to Bud’s inventory and customer intent. This included wheels, beadlocks and specific high-value product ranges rather than relying on broad traffic growth alone.

3. Strengthened content and internal relevance

On-page content, page titles, descriptions and internal linking were improved so search engines could more clearly understand the relationship between brands, products and categories. This helped important commercial pages compete for searches including “beadlock wheels”, “kmc grenade” and “all wheels”.

4. Built authority and local trust

The campaign added relevant backlinks and improved NAP consistency across local and industry sources. These signals supported both domain credibility and Bud’s local presence as a Gold Coast wheel and tyre specialist.

The results after six months

The campaign produced gains across acquisition, conversion and site experience:

Commercial keywords made the biggest moves

The most useful ranking gains were not vanity terms. They were searches tied directly to the products Bud’s sells:

Search termRanking movement
Beadlock wheelsGained 64 positions
Kmc grenadeGained 176 positions
All wheelsGained 253 positions

Searches including "kmc grenade wheels" and "buds tyres" reached the top three, while terms such as "beadlock rims" and "black bear tyres" delivered commercially relevant traffic.

03 Commercial Keyword Ranking Gains

The financial impact

Between 1 October 2024 and 30 March 2025, the campaign recorded $98,575 in revenue attributed to organic search against a $12,000 SEO investment. After subtracting the SEO investment, the revenue less investment was $86,575. Using the standard ROI calculation, this represents a 721.46% return:

ROI = ($98,575 − $12,000) ÷ $12,000 × 100 = 721.46%
Put simply, the campaign generated approximately $8.21 in attributed revenue for every $1 invested in SEO during the measurement period.

Why this result matters

Traffic grew by 92%, but that is only part of the story. The stronger outcome was that SEO supported a 60% increase in enquiries and bookings and nearly $100,000 in attributed revenue. Visibility improved on the pages and searches closest to a purchase or appointment. That is the difference between treating SEO as a rankings exercise and building it as a commercial acquisition channel. It’s the same standard we hold AI SEO work to. A product page has to be built to be found, whether the customer starts the search in Google or asks an AI assistant which wheels fit their car.

A note on measurement

The growth figures and financial results use different but overlapping reporting windows. The 92% traffic, 60% enquiry and booking, and 40% page-speed figures describe the first six months of campaign improvement. The revenue and ROI figures cover 1 October 2024 to 30 March 2025. Revenue attribution reflects the analytics and ecommerce reporting available for the account during that period.
